After graduation and welcoming several work teams we looked forward to a fews days of laid back rest. As you will see below, that didn’t happen.
We always try to visit the local associations, just like missionaries back home. Enjoyed the Baptist Missionary Association of Negros Island in early June (Upper left). Then up to the mountains with missionary J.R. Navartte presenting a gospel film and passing out Shepherd Bags (Upper right and below)
Dos Hermanos Baptist Church
When visiting Dos Hermanos Baptist Church we were surprised to find Kevin Berayo, our Ahgu missionary, the guest speaker.
Our dear friend Samuel Rapada invited me to sing at his church in EB Magdalona. Pastor Rapada is father-in-law to our BMA missionary John Page. He and wife Louela just welcomed a new baby boy.
New Mission in Sagay City
It was our joy to travel to Sagay City to preach for BMANI missionary Tom Jones Monteverde.
Here is Donna in front of the church, me accepting an appreciation gift, the ladies of the mission and the choir.
One of the deacons of the mission and his wife run a Mid-Wife clinic. They deliver 80 to 90 babies a month. Once we went in the first sign I saw was this on the right. “Ah….I don’t think so.”
The Unexpected – Keeping Us On Our Toes
When we arrived in the Philippines January 2017, God blessed us with a furnished house that was move in ready three days after we landed. It was a blessing beyond words. We loved our little house, but in early June our landlord announced he was selling. Once again God provided. We found a new house and began the exasperating process of getting it ready to move in. While our first house was furnished, this one is not. So, a lot of shopping for the necessities: refrigerator, stove, furniture. Thanks to our Bible College boys who helped us move. Below is a picture of our new house. Our new address is:
Blk 48 Lot 24 Buckingham Square
Town & Country Cambridge
Talisay City, Negros Occidental 6115
First Baptist Church Magnolia, Arkansas is our sending church, where Donna and I served pastor for 25 years before coming to the Philippines. We ask for everyone to pray for the church during their search for a new pastor.

Our ambitious vision to take the Gospel to all of Asia
Want to help us make some “dreams” come true? Here are architectural drawings of two HUGE projects on our “dream list”: a new gate and entrance to our campus and projected 1st-12th grade academy. Lets talk. Contact missionaries Stan, Doug or Jimmy.

For several months we have languished concerning our passports and visas. Finally, they have arrived. So, we are now free to travel. Missionary Walker and I will be planning our Asian church planting tour. In just a few days our daughter Leslie and grand-daughter Ava Grace will arrive e for a visit. (Can you say excited.). Then we welcome a work team from Garrett Memorial Baptist Church from Hope, Arkansas. School starts in August, so lots of preparations getting ready for our third year of teaching.
pray, Pray, PRAY!
F R O M D O N N A
We are thrilled beyond words to welcome our daughter Leslie and grand-daugther Ava Grace in just a few days. We will travel to Manila to meet them and then spend 7 days together, I already know the time will be too short. I’m still working on finishing my masters in education. Just one more course and then a paper to write. Just five weeks until school starts back and it will be fun to welcome all the new and returning students. Two things I have no joy in doing. #1 grocery shopping, #2 house moving. Having to do both and so remember to keep me in your prayers.
Our work is completely focused on making sure the Gospel is taught in our weekly home Bible study, the sending of the Gospel to Southeast Asian countries, the training of pastors and missionaries at the Bible College and church planting in the Philippines and all over Southeast Asia. Would you help us? $1,000.00 a year goes a long way here, helping us train church planters, send missionaries and train students. Click on the donate button below, locate the Scroggins/Philippine fund and prayerfully consider contributing to help us. We love you all.
